This is great. Slavic myth actually has a thing where a person who might otherwise be eaten by Baba Yaga might remind her of the traveler’s right to hospitality, and thereby be saved.
I get tons of asks about that and I definitely plan to do more with it!
Right now I have an non-Elastigale related project that’s taking up all my time, so I don’t have a ton to spare for fanart. And when i do have more time, I’d really like to complete some of the many (many) unfinished comics I have about their highschool/college days (especially once Bob gets involved!) because I think it’ll add so much more context to the later comics with Grey Gail once she comes back into their lives. Foreshadowing, yo!
But rest assured, I do have several Grey Gail comics in the works, as well as more with Voyd (who I have really missed drawing!) and some with (gasp) both of them!
theres this chinese girl in my class who isnt very fluent in english and she asked me if i have a boyfriend and i was like “i dont. i dont like. boys” and she nodded very wisely and went “ah. cooties”
I think of her as bi, and that’s how I’ve had her describe herself (See this and this).
I don’t subscribe to the idea that “bi” means only attracted to men and women. It means attracted to more than one gender, and I think of Helen as being someone who could be (and has been) attracted to quite a variety of people across the gender spectrum. So technically, she could be called pansexual. But if she was trying to quickly explain her identity to someone (especially someone who isn’t aware of most queer vocabulary) “bi” is the most easily understood term.

All the other superhero themes we hear in the Incredibles are based on cheesy 60′s hero themes with a basic, memorable melody. (Think Batman, 1966.) Sometimes they’re punny. Sometimes it’s literally just the super’s name over and over. But they’ll always get stuck in your head, which is why they’re perfect for marketing cartoons, toys, toothpaste, you name it.
She did, but only her parents and a few close friends knew it! It was never popularized over tv in a cartoon spinoff or even in a cereal ad as many other super themes were. (I wish I could make it and post it here, but alas…I have many skills but composing music isn’t one of them.😂)
