For anyone curious, I have 3 main characters I’ve used for D&D over the years (4 if we count my original, but I usually don’t talk about him).
This is Riolu Ungart, my second character I played. He is a half drow (mom’s side), half hill dwarf (dad’s side) genderfluid Circle of the Moon Druid from a place in the Fey Wild dubbed Harvest Wood (it’s always harvest season there and it’s gorgeous).
Later in life he gained a level of Monk when he started becoming more comfortable in combat, and his last level was Life Domain Cleric in honor of his best friend, Tabaxi Warforged Paladin Michael Sunshadow.
He’s a vegetarian, and through much study he attained the Owlbear wildshape and it quickly became his favorite.
His favorite foods are Herbal Tea, Apple Ale, Apple Crumble and Stinky Tofu, and his least favorite foods are Miso anything and really dark whiskeys.
He’s Pansexual and Polyamorous, and believes that love is something to be shared with everyone willing to participate in it, and thus has never married but instead has a harem of people from just about every race and identity.
This is my 3rd character, Paupricosh Padparadscha-Ungart (her companions call her Poppy), Riolu’s daughter he had with Rosemary Padparadscha toward the end of his adventures. She is a tiefling (due to Rosemary’s genes) and is a College of Swords Bard and Sun Soul Monk (aka, she has Hamon. My new dm helped me homebrew the Overdrive for her:pictured left hand).
She is a lesbian, and tends to be the dominant one in relationships. She has a thing for Half-Orc and Goliath women predominantly, and finds it adorable when she’s able to find a submissive partner.
She is in a relationship with the Half-Goliath Half-Orc (Goliath instead of Human) Blood Hunter/Barbarian foodie Gruvia Goremond, and one day hopes to open a dress shop/bakery with her.
She is transgendered and genderfae, and her daddy Riolu was nothing but supportive of her when she was transitioning, even commissioning one of his friends to help her transition through the use of True Polymorph (although she isn’t yet comfortable with transforming her genitalia, but they were perfectly fine with that, and let her know that if the day ever comes when she is, they would help her).
She grew up in a fairly well-rounded environment with Riolu and all of his friends and partners who taught her a number of skills and philosophies (although she had no idea what a human was until she was 22).
She is very bipolar and has no such thing as a small emotion. Due to her upraising in the Feywild, any happiness emotes as utter elation, anger as unbridled rage, etc.
She goes between Chaotic Good and Chaotic Neutral at the drop of a hat, and can be quite vindictive when she’s in one of her moods (which is usually roleplayed with her Cruel feat). her spirit animal is the Bull-Headed Shrike.
Like her daddy, she makes all of her own clothes (but doesn’t have the advantage of being able to become a spider and made silk like her dad). She is pictured in her Buttercup Dress with her Poppy Poncho she tailored from a cultist robe she “commandeered”.
Her favorite foods are any fruit-based pastries and Rose Wine, and her least favorite foods are pickles and anything pickled.
She is allergic to Petunias (still loves them) and Tobacco (hates it).
I adore Paupricosh, and am incredibly emotionally attached to her.
This is my 4th and most recent character, Roku Softpaw. He is a Goliath Panda Ranger (level 1 right now) Bounty Hunter traveling around the world hunting the band of Orc-Gnolls that attacked his home village.
He goes around hunting for gold and for food (one of his side goals is to eat every type of meat the world has to offer).
His favorite foods are pork dumplings and any dark whiskey, and his least favorite foods are bamboo (to break that stereotype), and common human (he finds them tough and stringy and only suitable for making jerky).
His only trait he looks for in a partner is they have to be able to beat him in a fight (bonus points if they can beat him within an inch of his life)
He’s still fairly recent, and I’m still learning about him. I greatly look forward to seeing what kinds of adventures he gets into when the campaign he’s in starts up in March.

Since we were hired by Decambria and her husband, several weeks have passed. In that time, Sunshadow has been comuning with his religious order and working on a secret project, Staab has been fighting in the arenas for fun and for money, and I have been working with Rosa. I took her shopping for new equipment, I made an offer on the former “Slave Trader Joe’s” building and it went through, and we have been working on converting it into a keep for us to live in. We cleaned out the place, turned the dungeon area into a series of bedrooms, converted the lobby into a common room, and installed a kitchen. I’ve focused on the backyard area and making a lovely garden. I cobbled a pathway around the area and center fountain, planted some of the herbs I got from the Eccentric Herbalist, placed strawberry beds around the entire area, Finally, I finished the garden by caring for the lone tree and made it my sleeping quarters.
We’ve worked a few jobs for our new employers to pay them back for the start-up funds they gave us to purchase and renovate the building, and by now have broke even. However, trouble was brewing once more as reports of a powerful demon has been sighted in the surrounding areas. Further investigation has proved that this demon is a Balor, the very same as the one that attacked the king all that time ago when we first met.
Staab didn’t know nor did he care about the beast, as he felt no obligation to take care of it. However, Sunshadow and I both knew that we couldn’t let the Balor harm anyone else, and we began making preparations for how to deal with it.
Rosa stepped forward to us and spoke to the group for the first time. She revealed that she is what’s known as a Mystic (Awakened), and is willing to fight the beast with us. However, the 3 of us would still be no match for the beast. Sunshadow remembered that there were 3 more people we haven’t considered in quite some time. Vanta Nailo the Half-Elf Monk, Credelia the Tiefling Warlock, and Destin the ??? Blademage. However, we weren’t sure how to contact them and summon them. Or at least, as far as they knew.
That night while in my tree, I took off my glove and uncovered my dark vein. With my other hand, I clutched my veined wrist and began meditating. As my meditation reached its peak, my mind was transported to the Realm of Dreams, and I found myself in the same Sailor Moon transforming state I was the last time, only this time I found myself in the reading room of The Dream Man.
He sat in his luxurious chair by the fireplace with beautiful book in one hand and glass of Rose Wine in the other, with the bottle sitting on an end table next to him just to the right of a cheese platter.
Sunshadow: Best friend and favorite partner in battle
Staab: Deep hatred of the condescending little skidmark and a desire to remove him
Rosa: Adores her and would do anything to protect her
Vanta: No opinion due to never having interacted when they knew each other
Credelia: Fear, stayed away when he knew her
The Dream Man: Mixed feelings
Decambria: Appreciates her existence and happy to work for her
Mr. Tragedy: Just met him, but civil thus far
King of Alliance: Finds him to be a weak-willed but well-meaning ruler whom should’ve never attained the throne
After taking care of the issue of Joe, we made our way to Decambria’s manor (the place was huge, and we were invited so it was all right). The second we made it up the front walk, Sunshadow decided to kick down the door, breaking it off its hinges, and stormed into the manor, all the while yelling “DECAPITATION! TRAGEDY!” (he confused her name).
Sitting by the fireplace, reading a book, we see a rather handsome Alucard-looking man look up with contempt at Sunshadow, clearly perturbed. He raises an eyebrow and says,”Can I help you?”
Sunshadow just replied,”DECAPITATION! TRAGEDY!”
Sunshadow used his sixth sense for good and evil and felt a wicked presence behind the door to the left of the stairwell. he gripped the doorknob and it was crushed in his mighty grip. Sunshadow then had the brilliant idea of punching through the door and reaching around to the other doorknob. He gently opened that one.
The door flew open and Sunshadow drew his mighty Sunblade, screaming out “THE LIGHT PURGES”, causing the blade to awaken into a beam of golden radiance. The target of this radiance was the succubus before him, making a pot of tea. This succubus being the one and only Decambria Tragedy.
Meanwhile, Staab and I entered the sitting room with the man whom clearly doesn’t care for random company that destroys his door.
“I’ll ask it again. Can I help you?”
Staab just giggled in the most annoying way, clearly showing no respect for the property of others.
I respond,”I’m terribly sorry about my compatriots here. We were invited by a miss Tragedy the day before last.” I retrieve my wallet from my Garter of Holding and open the snap. “If you would like, I would be happy to pay for any damages that have come to your lovely home as a result of our recklessness.”
The man waved while shaking his head no. “No, no it’s fine. We have more money than we know what to do with. I’m much more concerned with what your metallic friend is going to do.”
Riolu:”There’s no need to worry about him. He malfunctions from time to time, but they tend to be short-lived. By now he should’ve calmed down.”
Turns out I was right, because Sunshadow ended up walking out of the room with Decambria a few moments later, with Sunshadow having a new dent in his head.
We ended up being invited to dinner by the couple, and we were told the most beautiful love story. The man (who I now know to be her husband) was a human who was able to resist Decambria’s charm spell, because he truly fell in love with her. She tried to chase him away to prevent him from coming to harm (because she quite liked him too), but he wouldn’t let down. After about ten years, she couldn’t resist her feelings anymore, and they ended up together. She turned him into a vampire so they could be immortal together.
After tea and dinner, Sunshadow fixed their door and signed the boot print he made on it. I told them the story of Michael Sunshadow (the one he told me when we first met).
I told him he was just a tabaxi warrior in his homeland millenia ago, before the Nine Hells broke loose and ravaged the world. In his attempt to fight back against the fiendish onslaught, he was killed. But before he died, he swore his revenge against the beings that took away his home, his family, and his life, and his soul was sealed inside his Holy Symbol. Centuries later, the warforged was created, and his church had an idea. They used Sunshadow’s Holy Symbol to give him new life in a mechanical body. Over the millenia, he had to repair pieces of him that broke with whatever he could find, to the point where now his body is a random hodgepodge of various warforged and golem parts mashed together.
“His body is in bad shape, and he malfunctions from time to time. We have a goal to build him a new body, in reference to how he was in his youth.” I pull out my set of scrolls and pull out the sketch I did of what I imagine a warforged tabaxi would look like.
The vampire lord looked over it carefully. “So you’re wanting to create a metal tiger body for your friend?” I nodded. “If that’s the case, I may be able to assist you in this endeavor. I have allies in the Dwarven Kingdom who are rather capable at building golems and warforged. I have Elven allies here in the alliance that could aide in the tailoring of the fur skin. However, this will be an expensive and lengthy process. At the very earliest, four months.”
I continue listening very carefully. “I will not pay for this; however, as a thank you for helping my wife get back home relatively safely, I will employ you and pay you for your efforts.”
This is the end of the material I have from the campaign thus far, and I’m not sure when there will be more. I’m not the most mentally well person as of yet, and so I’ve distanced myself from the other 3 to prevent further harm from coming to them. My goal as of right now is to try and stabilize myself, and that is proving to be a difficult task.

We find ourselves on the doorstep of “Slave Trader Joe’s”, and we find that the shop is really run down. The lobby is dimly lit, filthy, and vacant, aside from the sniveling Joe hiding behind his desk piled high with overdue bills. Staab rings the bell, and Joe peeks his eyes up to see who it is.
Joe: “What ‘er ya doin” out an’ about? There’s an Owlbear out there!”
Sunshadow laughs and responds: “Hahaha! We took care of the Owlbear.”
I hold out my Staff of the Woodlands, showing Joe the Owlbear fur on it (from the first session) and exclaim “Yes. And here’s some of its fur as proof.”
Joe took a look at it, and started to poke holes in our story. “Why is it already cleaned and woven? And where are ma men and merchandise?”
Staab took the front and used an intimidating deception. “Don’t. Worry. About. It.” Joe immediately shut up.
Joe attempted to change the subject. “So, uh, thanks for takin’ care of the Owlbear. How ‘bout I give you a discount on anyone in the back? We thanked him, and Joe took us to the back of his shop. It was a standard looking dungeon-y place with torch lighting, and filled wall to wall with cages. In one cage, there was a small, young, purple-y burgundy Kobold curled up like a puppy. In another, there was a human man (who CLEARLY lifts).
Riolu: “How much for the Kobold?”
Joe looks surprised. “Him? You can just have ‘em. I’ve got no use for ‘em.”
Joe unlocks the cage and the now very excited Kobold comes over and gives the 3 of us hugs and kisses.
Sunshadow: “How about the man?”
Joe contemplates for a moment. “500 gold for ‘em. I promise he’s a hard worker. Ain’t that right Jim?” Jim ignores the notion.
I pick the kobold up in my arms, and I tell Joe “My friends here will handle payment.” I begin to walk out, but on my way I pull Sunshadow down to my level and whisper in his ear, “Do whatever to want to Joe. Have fun.” I then walk out of the backroom, through the lobby, and then exit the shop.
I put the kobold down and he sits like a dog and is just precious. “How about we name you Diogi? (Milo Murphy reference)”
He tilts his head. “D-d-d-O IT’S ME DIO! MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA MUDA!” And he starts rapidly (but softly) punching my leg.
Riolu: “All right, D-O it is.”
While I take the muda volley to my shin, I hear what sounds like a slave trader pleading for his life in tears, and then is suddenly silenced. A few moments later, Sunshadow, Staab, and Jim walk out of the shop, all covered in blood.
Sunshadow: “IT’S, FINISHED!” He had the biggest grin on his face, having just dealt out dark justice. Jim looks mortified. I reach into my Garter of Holding and pull out an apple. “Would you like an apple?” He just stares at it.
JIm: “You know, of everything that happened to me this month, from being captured by that pig of a man Joe, to being held in a cage with no sun, to watching that metal guy slice up Joe with a light sword, to seeing whatever that red and black thing do terrible things to the body with daggers that I would soon like to forget, YOU AND YOUR APPLE IS THE MOST DISTURBING!”
Sunshadow puts his hand on Jim’s shoulder. “Hahaha! Don’t worry friend. You’re free now, and Joe is no more. Him and his men.”
JIm has the most spooked expression I’ve ever seen on a person before. “Please. I just want to go home to my wife and daughter.”
So we end up walking him the two blocks to his home, and Sunshadow leaves him with 9 gold. I leave him with a basket of apples for his family.
Now that Joe is no more and the people are freed, we make our way to Decambria’s manor.
After our trip to the Dream Realm, we decided to look into visiting the Succubus (named Decambria Tradgedy). On our way through the richer parts of town, we see a truly revolting human merchant (ooc kinda looks like Hoggish Greedly) leading 7 people by chain, covered by 4 human guards. My eye is immediately drawn to a lovely pink Tiefling lady. I knew exactly what was going on. I’ve seen far too much of the slave trade in my travels. It disgusts me to no end to see a person treat another like property. I MUST FREE HER!!! This time though, I had a plan.
I separate myself from Sunshadow and Staab, and I greet the merchant jovially.
“Excuse me sir, whatcha doing with these fine folk?”
The man looks down to me and chuckles. He responds (in a cockney accent), “Transportin’ merchandise. Name’s Joe, of Slave Trader Joe’s. Ya interested in purchasin”?”
Keeping my jovial guise, I smile brightly. “Oh yes good sir. I’m very interested. How much for the seven of them?”
Joe slightly gasped at the notion. He regained composure and replied “Still need to get ‘em checked for diseases. Couldn’t price ‘em if I wanted to right now.” He pulls a scroll from his jacket. “Here’s ma callin’ card. Stop by me shop later, and I’ll set you up with some nice slaves. Hahaha.” I put the scroll in my Garter of Holding.
While I was distracting him, Sunshadow and Staab were stealthily sneaking up behind Joe’s back two guards. The imprisoned people look to them. Staab goes “shhhh”, and they keep our stealth. I bid Joe farewell, and took cover about 30 ft. away behind a stack of crates. I then entered my Guardian of Nature: Primal Beast mode, while Sunshadow and Staab stealthily “incapacitated”, the back two Joes. I then WildShape into my favorite form I worked so hard to attain, OWLBEAR! GUARDIAN OF NATURE:PRIMAL BEAST OWLBEAR!
I come barreling out, charging at Joe’s left hand Joe, and I beak and claw him into submission.
Joe doesn’t know what the heck’s going on. He just all of a sudden sees a super primal Owlbear attacking his left guard, Joe booked it as fast as his stubby little legs could go.
Sunshadow unleashes his mighty cleave with his Sun Blade to finish off the guard I previously weakened. Staab used the ultimate sneak attack on the final guard, and he dropped into a pit of ribbon. Sunshadow and I broke the shackles of the people, and I drop back into my base Riolu.
While Sunshadow is hugging the half-orc and simultaneously getting kicked in the shin by the dwarf who didn’t appreciate the hug, and Staab was being Staab, I provided my #applecare and handed an apple to everyone, again from my Garter of Holding.
I then hand an apple to the lady. I am enamoured. I ask her her name, she says she’s never had one. I tell her that she is her own person, and I will be sure that no one will ever enslave her again. She is protected.
We take the seven of them to Sunshadow’s church of choice in this town, and they are taken in. Before leaving her for now, and as a sign of her being under my protection to live the life she wants to live, I pull out my Marvelous Pigments and paint a to-scale, 4 inch Riolu in a dancing loop (I may have just invented the gif) and I give it to her.
With the people freed and cared for, we decide to follow the scroll and pay a visit to “Slave Trader Joe’s”.
It’s official. Kopinx has retired Vanta and will be focusing on Staab.
Both me and Riolu have mixed feelings about the Licorice Man, but so long as he respects the Weird Ones, he’ll be fine.
As I see my friend and his frienemy floating aimlessly behind me, and the panic of the people below, the Dream Man looks to his wrist then back to me, stating “Tick, Tock” in a condescending tone.
I have no idea how I got in this mess, but what I do know is that doing nothing isn’t an option.
The Dream Man looks to me. “It’s quite simple really. I release all these people from below, as well as you and your friends, and in return all I ask is you take but a single life. You end up walking away with the better deal.”
The Dream Man turns away. “Otherwise, I’ll just leave you all here”. He starts walking away.
In a single impulse, against my better judgement, I look straight at him and extend my right arm.
He turns back round and gives a small, smug grin. “Ah, a volunteer”. He extends his arm to meet mine. “Then it’s a deal”.
As he finishes that statement, our hands connect in a shake sending a cold jolt of painful energy through my whole body. A bright flash floods the realm, and before we know it, we’re waking up back in town, the crystals now gone. In my head, I clearly hear the Dream Man’s voice. “The people I borrowed are all fine. They’ll interprete the ordeal as if it were just a dream. And one more thing…” I feel a burning sensation on my right wrist, “that will serve as a reminder of the deal we made. It’ll only go away once the person is slain”.
I take off my glove, and from between my index finger and thumb all the way to about and inch and a half down my wrist, is a single black vein. I quickly place my glove back on, returning to my Weird Ones.
