Thank you! ❤ Gald you’re enjoying this AU as much as I enjoy overthinking it. XD
After her accident, Gail had a lot of trouble sleeping due to phantom pain. This was especially hard when she was homeless and didn’t have medication (or a bed, for that matter) to make sleeping a little easier. After moving in with the Parrs, and after Bob/Helen eventually incorporate her into their relationship, Gail finds a lot more comfort sharing a bed with them. Even if she can’t sleep, she can try to focus on the sounds of her partners sleeping, feel the rise and fall of their breaths in the dark. Even Bob’s snoring which might otherwise be an annoyance can be a happy distraction and a reminder of how much her life has improved. ❤
For a long time during her recovery, Gail is also very easily exhausted. I imagine it’s a common sight to see her passed out on the couch in the evenings with the tv still on. On nights where the pain keeps her up, I can see Bob and/or Helen massaging her limbs to help them feel better.
(Interestingly, hypnosis is sometimes suggested as a form of relief for phantom pain. Maybe Evelyn could incorporate it into her therapy sessions while working on memory recovery.)
I love this💖
I love genuine displays of caring
