Seriously though, you don’t have to dig very deep to see that there’s more to this song than some stolen fries. Marceline is singing about that because it’s the easiest thing to grasp in her head. It’s easier to be mad at her dad about some stolen french fries than it is to be mad about years of neglect and whatever else he might have done to her growing up.
